Continuing Educational Seminar
The doctors of Kay, Tabas, & Niknam Ophthalmology Associates hosted a continuing education seminar for Optometrists at the Hilton City Ave Hotel on October 24, 2010. The program was attending by over 60 eyecare professionals. The lectures included topics such as advances in macula degeneration, individualizing glaucoma treatment, surgical complications associated with Flomax use, eyelid tumors, and an update on premium intraocular lenses for the reduction of astigmatism and dependence on eyeglasses after cataract surgery. A highlight of the program was the showing of 3-D surgical videos, the first presentation of its kind in the Philadelphia area.

Give Kids Sight Day
Dr. Janine Tabas and her daughter Stephanie volunteered at the Wills Eye Hospital 2nd annual "Give Kids Sight Day" on Saturday October 30, 2010. This year 1,400 children received free eye exams, and 1,190 pairs of glasses.
Dr. Michael Kay discusses Modern Cataract Surgery at the Rotary Club of Philadelphia
Dr. Michael Kay lectured to a capacity crowd at the Rotary Club of Philadelphia in November. His topic was Modern Cataract Surgery, and it was well received by the group.
Dr. Niknam speaks at the CARE'S Conference.
On Sat. Oct 23, 2010 Dr. Rachel Niknam was an invited speaker at the Glaucoma Service Foundation's annual CARE'S conference held in Philadelphia at Wills Eye Institute. Her lecture was titled "What Eye Pressure is Safe for Me?" and was very informative.

Born and raised in Algeria, Dr. Hakim Ferradji came to the US ten years ago in order to provide more opportunities for his children. He is a highly skilled and experienced ophthalmologist and a valued addition to our practice.
Dr. Ferradji completed his medical degree and training in Ophthalmology in Algeria, where he practiced medical and surgical ophthalmology for several years before coming to the US. He has over 15 years of practice experience, and assists with comprehensive care to patients of all ages within our practice. Dr. Ferradji is thankful for the opportunity provided to him by Drs. Kay, Tabas and Niknam to work in such an advanced facility.
